Our diligent staff collectively read hundreds of online user reviews that were both positive and negative. Many reviewers claim to be impressed by the overall performances of the product with some minor complaints that need to be addressed and contemplated when making the decision to by this LitterMaid Elite Mega Unit or not. Once assembled the raking of the solid clumps seem to perform fairly good overall, but many reviewers also did point out that extra small clumps were not picked because they fit through the rake opening.

The biggest complaint from many of the reviewers was the expensive cost to replace the disposable plastic receptacles and air filters. It initially comes with four of each, but the bags fill up fast and have to be replaced on a regular basis. The noise factor was another issue that the reviewers wrote about, commenting on how noisy the unit is when in cleaning mode and sometimes scaring the cats themselves. Multiple reviewers who were LitterMaid owners in the past for many years noticed that this newer model did not improve upon the older models, but actually got worse.
